By choosing a clear and easy-to-remember domain name, you will help your customers remember your website and make it easier to visit. You will also have a web address that does not contain Webnode. An example is my-website.com.
Do I need Premium Services to use my own domain?
Yes, you need to have Premium Services to use your own domain. With your first purchase of Premium Services you will get a free one-year domain registration. Without Premium Services, your website will be shown under a domain name containing Webnode, my-website.webnode.com.
How can I get a free domain?
The easiest way to get a free domain is to purchase a Mini, Standard or Profi Premium Package. After the purchase of any Premium Package is completed, you will be sent a voucher for a free one-year domain registration. More details about using the voucher can be found in our knowledgebase.
What domain name will I get and for how long?
With the purchase of Premium Services, you can choose a domain name from our domain pricelist. With your first purchase of a Mini, Standard or Profi Premium Package, you will get a free one-year domain registration. From the second year, you will pay for both the Premium Package and domain (domain starting at €9.95/year).
Can I register multiple domain names?
Yes, you can register as many domains as you would like for your website. You will set one of the domains as the primary domain and all other domains will redirect to this one.
Is it possible to cancel the domain registration?
It is not possible to cancel the registration of a domain name. After the completion of your purchase you become the owner of the domain name and it is not possible to cancel the registration.
How long will I own the domain?
You are able to register a domain from 1 to 10 years. If you register for two or more years you can save up to 20% off the domain price. Furthermore, long term subscribers won't need to renew the registration every year saving them time in the future.
Do I have to publish my personal information to register a domain?
It is necessary to submit personal information such as contact details in order to successfully register a domain. This information is required by the domain registrar and it is publicly available in the database of domain owners. If you do not want to publish your personal details, you can order anonymous domain registration while purchasing your domain.
Can I order multiple services while purchasing my free domain?
Yes. After your first purchase of a Mini, Standard or Profi Premium Package, you will receive a voucher for a one-year registration of one domain. This voucher is valid for 45 days after the purchase of Premium Services has been completed. While registering your free domain, you can also order multiple domains or anonymous domain registration. After entering the voucher code, the price of one domain will be subtracted from the total.
What domain name should I choose?
Choose a domain name describing the purpose and content of your website. It should also be easy-to remember, like my-recipes, automotive-technician-new-york or business-consultant-seattle. The final address of your website will then be www.my-recipes.com, etc.. Using the keyword directly in your domain will also help your website rank better in search results on Google or another search engines.
What kind of domain should I choose?
The ending (or TLD) should be usual for the country and language you operate in. It is helpful to register a .com domain and/or other domains like .net or .org. This way you will ensure that your competitors will not use a similar domain and take your potential visitors.
What happens if I already have a domain with another registrar?
With Premium Services, you can run your website on a domain purchased with another registrar. After your payment is received, you will be sent a voucher for a free one-year domain registration. You can use the voucher to register a domain, to transfer your existing domain to Webnode or to attach your existing domain using DNS records.
